15 Minute Skirt
Items Needed: 45 or 60” wide Fabric (Hip Measurement + 5-10”) or double hip measurement. (Tablecloth or border print works nice, get a poly/cotton if possible.) 1” wide Elastic = waist measurement less
3-5”.
- 1. Widest Body Part Measurement + 2”-10” for straight slit skirt, or double measurement for a full skirt.
- 2. Measure length of skirt. (28-34”) Add 3”, 2” for top elastic waist, + 1” roll hem.
- 3. Cut length of skirt needed. Clean finish the edges of raw fabric (1/4” fold raw edge, straight stitched down fold side), or use selvage edge.
- 4. Sew ½” roll hem along bottom edge.
- 5. Sew 2” roll hem along the top edge of fabric.
- 6. Sew 5/8” seam down the back of skirt. Sew 1” from top then skip ¾” for threading elastic or cord, continue seam.
- a. Gathered skirt, sew entire length.
- b. Kick pleat straight skirt. Measure from waist to knee. Roll hem each side of kick pleat up to the knee measurement.
- c. Thread elastic.
Towel Wrap
Items Needed: 1 towel 12” wider than widest body part, (Hip, waist or bust line). For women check width of towel to make sure you have length + 3”. 20” snag free
Velcro and 24” of 2” wide elastic.
- 1. Measure 10” along length from each edge of towel. Pin elastic at each 10” mark. Sew along width of elastic at each end.
- 2. Fold towel length in about 3” from edge and sew in place, holding and stretching the length of elastic as you sew to make it straight.
- 3. Sew Snag Free Velcro in place, along each edge.
- a. Sew Velcro on one flap inside, and the other flap outside.
- b. On Men: left flap goes over right. On women: right flap goes over left.
Scrubs / Pajama bottoms
Items Needed: Length = waist to ankle measurement. (Also measure waist, hip and thigh.)Fabric: 45” wide = about 60” or 1.5 x above length fabric + 5-7”, 60” wide = length +
5-7”. Elastic = waist – 3”, or Cording = 20” + waist ”.
Scrubs or sweats for pattern.
- 1. Flannel or cotton works well. Layout depends on size needed, but scubs are easy with only the crotch and inseam line. Layout pants on each fold, no side seam. Make sure
thigh, hip and waist measurement have at least 2” extra.
- 2. Sew from crotch to waist. Hem with 3” placket for elastic or cording. Leave ¾” un sewn opening in center of 3” placket for cording or threading elastic.
- 3. Pin at hem, knee and crotch and sew inseam in one entire length.
- 4. Roll hem each pant leg, and thread elastic.
